Tuesday Tip: You’re Welcome

Today we start a new feature on the SVN blog: Tip Tuesday. We aim to provide CRE professionals with time-tested wisdom that will help improve results.

Today’s tip from Solomon Poretsky, Chief Development Officer, SVN International Corp.:

Handwrite thank you notes

Are you sending handwritten thank you notes? If not, why not? Thank you notes are easy to do, cost almost nothing, and  make a big impression. Any time you meet with a seller/owner/decision-maker, write a proposal (e.g., lease, sale, tenant representation), take a listing, or close a transaction, make it a habit to send your contact a quick note.

When using pre-printed thank you cards, you just need to write a couple of sentences. If your handwriting is as bad as mine, just s-l-o-w down a bit as you write,  and be extra careful. Because there is so much junk mail, getting a personalized hand-written note is a treat for everyone (even millennials, who are supposedly post-post office, are keeping paper holiday cards alive), and a great branding impression for you.

Do you write thank you notes? If so, do you handwrite them or email them? We want to know how you do it! Let us know in the comments.
