Solomon Poretsky is SVN’s Chief Development Officer. Prior to joining SVN, Solomon was a partner at Custom Skills Development, a commercial real estate consulting firm providing coaching, development, and training services to agents and brokerages across North America. His commercial real estate career started at Marcus & Millichap, where he was involved in over $1.2 billion of listings sales and closings as both an agent and a regional manager. He currently resides in suburban Minneapolis with his wife, Mary, his twin sons, Thomas and William, and his St. Bernard, Snorlax.

Miller earned a Masters in Business Administration degree from Salisbury University in Maryland in addition to attending Elon College in North Carolina as an undergraduate. Miller holds the Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation and acts as the company’s Executive CPM.

John McDermott serves as Executive Director of Sales and Director of its Industrial Practice for SVN | Chicago Commercial in Chicago, Illinois. John is a member of the Executive Committee of the SVN Asset Recovery Team (SVNART), serves as its Southern California Regional Director and is also a member of theSVNIC Advisory Board. John also trains SVN Advisors nationwide. His commercial real estate experience includes the ownership and development of condominiums, mobile home parks, neighborhood anchored retail centers, recreational vehicle parks, and apartments with 45 years of real estate and finance experience.
Prior to joining SVN, McDermott served as a broker, manager, and executive in California, Arizona, New York, Philadelphia, and Washington D.C for Marcus & Millichap. Previously, McDermott served as the manager of nationwide lending for First Federal Savings of Arizona where he was responsible for lending, loan administration, secondary marketing, foreclosure and trustee services, REO administration, data processing and mortgage banking.

Michael Thanasouras serves as a managing director for SVN | Chicago Commercial, where he acts as CFO and COO. In addition Thanasouras specializes in the sale of retail, land and multifamily property throughout the greater Chicago, Illinois Metropolitan Area.
Prior to joining SVN, Thanasouras gained industry experience as an asset manager for Connaught Real Estate Finance, LLC, in Chicago, providing mezzanine financing for developers. Previously, he served as chief financial officer and director of operations for Conlon & Co. in Chicago. While there Thanasouras’ responsibilities included: acquisition analysis, disposition analysis, asset management, financial management, and operations management. Prior to joining Conlon & Co., Thanasouras was a top producing agent and one of the cornerstone members in the successful launch of the company that is now SVN International Corp.
Before entering the real estate industry Thanasouras spent 14 years in the banking industry as an assistant vice president (AVP) of Small Business Commercial Lending for LaSalle Bank N.A. (now Bank of America) As AVP, Thanasouras oversaw commercial loan business development and underwriting for 15 different branches, gaining valuable experience working in consumer lending and trust.
Thanasouras earned a Master of Business Administration in Marketing from the Keller Graduate School of Management in Chicago and a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Illinois. Thanasouras is an accomplished runner, having completed five marathons. Outside of the office, Thanasouras spends his free time with his wife and two daughters, running, cycling or training for the next event.

Alex Dmyterko serves as President of BlackStream International. Dmyterko is responsible for the company’s growth by providing leadership for SVN/Blackstream, Christie’s International and as part of the management team for BlackStream Development. With more than 30 years of commercial real estate experience, Dmyterko has handled hundreds of sale, leasing, financing and development transactions in excess of $1.5 billion.
Prior to joining BlackStream, Dmyterko ran SVN International’s Southern US expansion program. He was responsible for the firm’s growth through franchising and mergers & acquisitions. SVN dramatically increased it’s southern presence under Dmyterko’s tenure. He became acquainted with BlackStream founder Ford Elliott when they collaborated to make SVN/BlackStream a reality.
Dmyterko served as president of Dmyterko & Wright, a Chicago, IL based development, brokerage and consulting firm. As president and founder, Dmyterko grew the company from zero to $90 million in assets in a five year period. Previously, Dmyterko was president of Crosland Inc.’s retail division in Charlotte, NC and president of CNL’s Commercial Net Lease Realty, a large publicly traded, net lease REIT in Orlando, FL. Dmyterko began his real estate career with Trammell Crow Company in Chicago where he served as the Midwest retail group’s Managing Director and was founder of Trammell Crow Build-To-Suit, a net lease development subsidiary. As president of three commercial real estate companies, Dmyterko has developed over 100 commercial projects spanning from Alaska to Puerto Rico, as well as 15 shopping and mixed-use centers.
Dmyterko has launched five businesses or subsidiaries during his career, including CorpRex, a joint venture with First Union Securities and REStores, a joint venture with Goldman Sachs’ Whitehall Funds. In 2001, he developed Birkdale Village in Huntersville, NC, a premier $100 million mixed-use lifestyle center with apartments, homes, office, retail and a cinema. Dmyterko also redeveloped an obsolete manufacturing plant in Skokie, IL into Village Crossing, an 800,000 sf shopping center. Dmyterko has served on the Board of Directors of Lucernex Inc., been a member of the Charlotte Plan Commission’s Vacant Big Box Committee, Chicago Metropolitan Council’s Redevelopment Committee, ICSC’s Carolina and Florida Program Committees and was on the Board of Governors of the Citrus Club of Orlando.
Dmyterko earned a graduate degree in Administration and Management from Harvard University Extension in Cambridge, MA and a BA in Government from Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH.

She was responsible for all aspects of construction, renovations, tenant fit out, and day to day operations including maintenance, purchasing and the team that preformed facilities management. Laura also handled all of the purchase, sale and leasing of space on the East and West Shores and downtown Harrisburg.
