1. What advice would you provide to an aspiring advisor who is new to the industry?
I advise everyone to schedule cold calling every day. This is a real discipline that helps to separate the winners from the posers.
2. What does the SVN Difference mean to you?
The SVN Difference means that we always put the clients interests first. It means we treat everyone, including other brokers, like clients.
3.What learning tools (book, blog, website, etc.) would you recommend to your colleagues to further their knowledge and enhance their careers?
I recommend getting the CCIM designation. I believe that the CCIM Institute is the best organization to get educated about commercial real estate, and learn how to be a top producing advisor.
Editor’s note: SVN is a featured sponsor at this year’s CCIM Global Conference in Chicago, on October 8-9, 2018.
4. What inspired you to open an SVN franchise? Or, why did you join SVN?
I wanted to transition from leasing to sales, and SVN offered the best platform.
5. What was your most memorable deal and why?
I was working with an owner of 117,000 square-foot office building on leasing when he told me he wanted to sell the property. He agreed to list it with me, and we brought in Morgan Stanley as the buyer. The sale price was $17 million. This helped me transition from leasing to investment sales full time
Bonus: List a fun fact to share about yourself – something that people may not know and that they may be surprised to find out.
I started out as the dishwasher at Denny’s, and if I can do this business anybody can. Also, I am an Air Force veteran.
